Potato and Radish Dahl ---------------------- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil 2 teaspoons Cumin 2 teaspoons Coriander 1 teaspoon Tumeric 2 teaspoons Paprika 2 medium fresh green chillies, chopped 3 cloves Garlic, crushed 1/2 inch Grated ginger 1 large Spanish Onion, chopped 1 dozen Radishes, peeled 2 medium Potatoes, cubed 1 can chopped tomatoes 2 cups red lentils 1 teaspoon Ground Black pepper 1 teaspoon Salt 1 cup water 2 tablespoons tomato puree Fry all the spices in the hot oil in a pan. Add the chillies, garlic, ginger and onions. Fry till the spices are well combined. Add the whole radishes and the potatoes and fry in the masala for a couple of minutes. Add the tomatoes, lentils, salt and pepper. Cook till the lentils are pulverised adding water as necessary. Add the tomato puree. Serve with brown rice.
